The Left Bank

Breakfest included crossaints from a bakery around the corner.  This may become routine!

We might have overdone it today with 7 hours of touring the Left Bank. That includes a lunch break. We visited a few churches and 2 museums.  We started with The Cluny Museum which is housed in a bath house from the first century and a turretted Gothic mansion. It holds an amazing collection of medieval artifacts. We visited a few churches along our travels which were each beautiful. We fit in a nice lunch and Jack enjoyed his first order of escargot of the trip. After lunch we walked past the Sorbonne, Annie's Alma mater, before heading to the Pantheon. Here we saw Marie Curi and Voltaire's crypts along with some stunning statues and architecture. It rained/hailed for a brief time but it was mainly a beautiful day. We stopped on our way home for some cheese and a baguette for an authentic light French meal. I'm not sure what we'll do tomorrow but it will definitely include less walking.
