Paris Saint-Ouen Flea Market

Even though we are getting more familiar with using the buses, we ended up getting off at the wrong stop and having to backtrack about 25 minutes on foot. We were far from the center of Paris in a very different area. It was a combination of residential and commercial.  It seemed like a fine area but not picture worthy.
Today's destination was the Paris Saint-Ouen Flea Market.  It is supposed to be one of the largest in the world full of antiques and assorted items. It would be a perfect place to use to furnish a chateau. Since we haven't won the lottery yet, we just looked. I saw some lovely jewelry pieces, but they were in locked cases and included items labeled Cartier, so I didn't bother asking for prices. The items I could afford were less interesting. We saw some statues that would be fun in a yard but as you can see from the pictures, we wouldn't be able to pack them. It was a fun place to explore, and we found a nice little place for lunch.  You can tell the authentic places because they don't offer English menus. Google translate is a helpful app.
On the way home we found a Gelato place that is right down the street from us. This will either be very convenient or problematic. I'm leaning towards convenient! There are a few restaurants and cafes that we walk by daily. We didn't know about the gelato place. FYI, glaces means ice-cream.  Knowing the language of the country you are in can be useful.

We spent @ 4 hours at the flea market and barely scratched the surface.
Our new ice cream parlor is mixed in at the end of our block.
