We took the bus to the Eiffel Tower today and went for a lovely lunch before going up. I made a mistake with the times on the tickets but fortunately, they were very nice and let us in anyway. It was much less crowded than we expected. The day was crystal clear so the views were amazing. We had a nice walk to the Rodin Museum. It was @ a mile away. We stopped briefly in a lovely park to enjoy the day. Going through the sculpture gardens at the Rodin Museum was a nice way to enjoy the afternoon. The mansion housing the museum was also beautiful. After a bus ride home, brief rest, and simple meal, we rallied and went out to a Jazz club/cave, around the corner. Yes, we are way cooler in Paris than NJ. Don't worry we'll be back to normal when we get home. Before you think we've gotten too wild, we were home by 9. A boat Jack would like Sacre-Coeur and oth...
We spent @5 hours at the Musee d' Orsay today. The Museum if huge and full of wonderful masterpieces. I am including many pictures and apologize for not labeling them I did look at who the artists are but don't remember. We splurged on lunch at the museum because of how impressive the room is. You'll see from the pictures. This evening we attended a choir concert held in Sainte-Chapelle Church. The music performed was from the 14th and 15th centuries. ...
Breakfest included crossaints from a bakery around the corner. This may become routine! We might have overdone it today with 7 hours of touring the Left Bank. That includes a lunch break. We visited a few churches and 2 museums. We started with The Cluny Museum which is housed in a bath house from the first century and a turretted Gothic mansion. It holds an amazing collection of medieval artifacts. We visited a few churches along our travels which were each beautiful. We fit in a nice lunch and Jack enjoyed his first order of escargot of the trip. After lunch we walked past the Sorbonne, Annie's Alma mater, before heading to the Pantheon. Here we saw Marie Curi and Voltaire's crypts along with some stunning statues and architecture. It rained/hailed for a brief time but it was mainly a beautiful day. We stopped on our way home for some cheese and a baguette for an authentic light French meal. I'm not sure what we'll do tomorrow but it will definitely include less wal...
