Breakfest included crossaints from a bakery around the corner. This may become routine! We might have overdone it today with 7 hours of touring the Left Bank. That includes a lunch break. We visited a few churches and 2 museums. We started with The Cluny Museum which is housed in a bath house from the first century and a turretted Gothic mansion. It holds an amazing collection of medieval artifacts. We visited a few churches along our travels which were each beautiful. We fit in a nice lunch and Jack enjoyed his first order of escargot of the trip. After lunch we walked past the Sorbonne, Annie's Alma mater, before heading to the Pantheon. Here we saw Marie Curi and Voltaire's crypts along with some stunning statues and architecture. It rained/hailed for a brief time but it was mainly a beautiful day. We were much more rested today and we decided we are not too old for this adventure after all. We went on a wonderful food tour based in our area today. Our guide was great and we spent the day with 2 lovely ladies and their Mom. They are from England and gave their Mom a weekend in Paris for Christmas. If anyone is looking for gift ideas, this is a winner. The tour started with crossaints, and moved onto macarons, chocolates, pastrami sandwiches(from the Jewish section of town), , onion soup, dessert(a wonderful little pastry) cheese and wine. We also explored a food market that had everything from oysters to roasted chicken. This will be incorporated into our future meal planning. It was rainy but a great way to spend 4 hours. Aside from being delicious, it was a nice way to get to know our neighborhood. We got a little lost on the way home which allowed us to explore a bit more. After many hours, we went out for dinner.
